Leslie's Cleaning Service Wins The Best of the Best Award

Leslie Power Wins Best of the Best AwardLike so many house cleaning service owners, Leslie Power started her business, Leslie's Cleaning Service out of necessity and has built it over the past nine years, into a successful full service company.  She grew her client base one home at a time; from the referrals of her satisfied customers and local advertising.  She is the proud single mother of two children; Kelsey (19) and Keaton (18) both live at home and attend college.  Through her hard work and perseverance over the past decade, she has expanded into commercial and new construction cleaning, creating a great reputation in the community along the way.  A few years ago, in response to her client's needs, Leslie's Cleaning Services added professional window and carpet cleaning services.   Leslie has used the same two contractors for many years; she says "Our clients actually look forward to having their carpets and windows cleaned because they enjoy seeing Paul who does windows and Richard who does carpets!"  She currently has seven employees.  One thing that sets Leslie's Cleaning Services apart from competitors is her devotion to her employees; she realizes that without "great employees" you cannot have a "great business".  Leslie strongly believes that good pay and respect for employees is essential to good business.  Her cleaning technicians are well-trained, friendly, reliable, hardworking and professional.   Each employee agrees to drug testing and background checks, which she has found is a great selling point for clients and makes being an employer considerably easier as well.   She and her employees currently operate out of the northern California city of Auburn, and provide superior cleaning services to customers locally and in surrounding towns.

Leslie's Cleaning Services' Mission Statement is:  "To make our customers feel like they are the most important people in the world - because to us, they are!  They accomplish this by delivering exceptional service, going the "extra mile" and doing whatever it takes to go above and beyond customers' expectations."  As a result, Leslie's Cleaning Services was named Best of the Best this year, by The Auburn Journal.  "Last year there wasn't even a cleaning category, a phone call and a year later- we win!" Leslie said.  "It really is very exciting for all of us, we work so hard for our clients, it is great to get recognized in this way!"  Leslie's job since hiring Angela Shade, a full time Operations Manager, is promoting and refining the company.  Leslie is a member of the Association of Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI).  She is very active in the cleaning industry community; she utilizes memberships with other cleaning businesses and regularly attends conventions and educational events.  She uses search engines specific to the industry and maintains a strong online presence.  Through these methods, Leslie stays on top of the latest innovations in cleaning techniques, equipment and products to better serve her client's needs and to grow the business.

Leslie also believes that a strong presence in the local community is good business, it is also good for her employees and a way to give back to the community "It is a win-win all the way around", She says.   Leslie makes it a point to donate cleanings to local schools and non- profit organizations.  Leslie's Cleaning Services is a member of the Auburn Chamber Of Commerce, which she feels is "a great way to stay in touch with local businesses and see how we can benefit each other!" Leslie believes strongly in giving away her services to people who need cleaning and cannot do it themselves.  Leslie chose two organizations to give her services through,  Cleaning For A Reason, donating cleaning services to women diagnosed with cancer and Cleaning For Heroes, donating cleaning for veterans and first responders that cannot do their own cleaning.  Leslie's recent focus has been on turning her company towards green cleaning "Other than the two aerosols I can't seem to give up, we are green," Leslie says.  Her company uses only the most progressive cleaning products and state-of-the-art equipment to go the extra mile in providing the outstanding service her clients deserve.

Leslie's Cleaning ServiceLeslie is very proud of the company she has built and its accomplishments.  She has achieved many of the goals she set for her cleaning business and continues to grow.  Her goals for the future include: expanding the commercial division, continue educating herself about the industry and the science of cleaning, purchase two company vehicles and expand her network of colleagues.

To wrap it up, Leslie says," I think what it all comes down to is relationships, work is just a microcosm of   the world, but you get to create it and set the tone.  Building, developing and sustaining relationships not only makes great business sense, but makes all of our live richer!"
